Little Hulton
Little Hulton was the first area Walkabout visited. A local steering group was created and set up, with members including Salford City Council’s Neighbourhood Management Team, NHS Primary Care Trust, Salford Community Leisure and the Youth Service. This steering group advised Walkabout to work with the Residents’ Associations of four of the housing estates in Little Hulton, with the following aims:
- To develop community cohesion through participatory activity.
- An emphasis on raising profile of the role of Resident Associations on housing estates in Little Hulton.
- Improving relationships between the young and old.
This resulted in several events, The Big Weekend, Wind Up Summer and Strike The Light. Find out more about them on the left.
