Wind Up Summer

Little Hulton’s Big Weekend inspired the other two estates to work towards their own projects and take part in Wind Up Summer with Walkabout. During the next month, Walkabout helped facilitate a diverse range of activities including:

• Writing a song for Little Hulton, the ‘Little Hulton Anthem’,
• An Alice in Wonderland themed event on Amitage Fields
• Portrait Pictures.

The success of these projects ensured there was a wealth of enthusiasm for Little Hulton’s final event, Strike the Light.

Working with the Mount Skip Residents’ Association, there was a concern that there was a the lack of young people engaging with the Residents’ Association’s Shop, and therefore Walkabout could help bridge the gap between young and old.

To encourage more young people to use the facilities of the centre, artists from Spearfish delivered DJ and Graffiti workshops to attract young people. Over 50 young people took part in this initiative.
