About Walkabout

Walkabout is a community programme managed by The Lowry’s Community & Education Team and is developed in partnership with communities across Salford and with Salford City Council.

The Lowry, through Walkabout aims to work with people in Salford to:
• celebrate where you live and make a difference to your area
• help you turn your creative ideas into reality and create something original
• come together with friends, family and meet new people
• learn and develop skills
• share ideas and talents

Walkabout uses a wide variety of Artists and art forms to address community and council priorities and develops opportunities to share experience, showcase talent and celebrate the unique qualities of each area in which it has a presence.

The Lowry has already been on Walkabout in Little Hulton, Eccles, Winton and Barton, Ordsall and Langworthy.

From October 2011 to early Summer 2012, The Lowry will be on Walkabout in your community in Lower Broughton and anyone of any age can get involved.
